Aseri Katanga, Chairman of the Board

Aseri KatangaAseri Katanga is the Chairman of Computers 4 Africa’s Board of Trustees. Since 1999, he has been working to improve education in Tanzania.
Aseri was born in 1958 in Ishozi village near Lake Victoria in north western Tanzania. As his father was a teacher, he desired the best education for young Aseri. For that reason, Aseri was sent to the United Kingdom to study ‘A’ Levels at Dacorum College in Hemel Hempstead. He continued his studies in the UK obtaining a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies whilst studying at Newlands Park College in Buckinghamshire, and then completed a degree in Economics at Kingston University.

Ena Winch - Trustee

Ena Winch - Trustee Ena Winch, appointed as Trustee on 2 September 2005.

Ena moved to Maidstone when she was one year old and has been a resident ever since. Her career with Maidstone Borough Council has always involved working with people especially the disadvantaged as a carer at a local refuge for mums and their children. Even after ill health meant early retirement Ena continued in a caring role, often having people to stay in their home for extended periods. Ena has always been an active member of both the community in her neighbourhood and at her local church.

Hope Katanga - Trustee

Hope Katanga - TrusteeHope Katanga, appointed as Trustee on 22 December 2009.
Born of Hope in 1960 to Mr & Mrs Nsherenguzi from Kagera, Tanzania.  Hope attended kindergarten and a convent primary school at St John Bosco, then Bukoba Secondary School where she studied ‘O’levels for four years.

Enjoying the benefit of a great education, Hope did ‘A’ levels at Shinyanga secondary school in commerce subjects for 2 years.

In 1980 Hope joined her parents in Germany where she lived for three years and became fluent in German in addition to English, Swahili and Haya languages.

Keith Winch - Trustee Sep 2005 - Nov 2009

Keith WinchKeith Winch, appointed as Trustee on 2 September 2005.

Keith was born and bred in Maidstone. His early career was in public service with both Maidstone Borough Council and Kent County Council. Keith’s entrepreneurial spirit meant that as the years passed he developed his own gardening business, which thrived until his retirement. Never one to be idle, Keith’s hobbies – which included anything to do with driving – and his heart for people fully occupied his time and energies.
 
Keith was delighted to become a trustee, he enjoyed the ongoing involvement with the team and his personal values fitted well with the family feel of the work force at Computers 4 Africa. He could see that dreams were being achieved in schools in Africa.
