Hope Katanga, appointed as Trustee on 22 December 2009.
Born of Hope in 1960 to Mr & Mrs Nsherenguzi from Kagera, Tanzania. Hope attended kindergarten and a convent primary school at St John Bosco, then Bukoba Secondary School where she studied ‘O’levels for four years.
Enjoying the benefit of a great education, Hope did ‘A’ levels at Shinyanga secondary school in commerce subjects for 2 years.
In 1980 Hope joined her parents in Germany where she lived for three years and became fluent in German in addition to English, Swahili and Haya languages.
With experience in tourism and travel courses Hope returned to Tanzania to study at the University of Dar-es-Salaam where she obtained a BA honours in Economics. After graduation Hope started working for the Ministry of Agriculture.
After three years at the ministry of agriculture Hope moved to the UK to study at the University of Glasgow where she obtained a Masters degree in Development Economics.
Hope’s work experience also includes the Embassy of Switzerland and the Danish Embassy in Tanzania. Hope is currently working for Slough Borough Council as a social worker.
Hope says “I have never under estimated the change a charitable organisation can bring. I have always kept faith alive and welcome the true changes which Computers 4 Africa has brought across Africa; from the Gambia in West Africa up to Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.”
Hope’s international and multicultural experience brings an invaluable depth of understanding to Computers 4 Africa as it works into the diversity of nations that is Africa.
