Digital Pipeline working as Computers 4 Africa

New Phone Number

A new phone number is making it easier and cheaper for the public to get in touch with Computers 4 Africa who work refurbishing donated computers and sending them to projects in Africa.  The new number 03000 112233 is included in all phone packages which means many people will be able to call the us for free and everyone else will pay a landline rate.

Computers 4 Africa gets calls from across the globe, from schools using our free collection service or businesses wanting to partner with our corporate social responsibility initiatives to partner projects in Africa. The move to a 03000 number is in response to the huge number of calls to made by the British public wanting to make a donation of their old computers.

Although our previous number has always been a local rate number from a standard BT line, some mobiles and other phone operators charged significantly more.

Sharon Roberts, part of the C4A team, says: “The number change is an exciting opportunity to help to the people who help us achieve our goal to get IT into Africa.”

The new 03000 numbers are reserved for not-for-profit and public sector organisations and mean fairer and more transparent call charges for customers. Calling a 03000 number costs no more than calling a geographic (01 or 02) number and all phone companies are required to include them in inclusive minutes and discount schemes, even on mobiles.

The old 0845 number will be phased out, callers using the old number are now automatically transferred to 03000 112233.
