Digital Pipeline working as Computers 4 Africa

What a local community can achieve!

Following an initial contact from Anne Taylor of SR Events Computers  4 Africa were delighted to be invited to attend a recycling event held in the village hall in Widdington, near Saffron Walden  on Saturday 29th January.  Anne, along with Louise Oliver, rallied their local community with commendable success.

Widdington is a beautiful  village which seemed to be in the middle of nowhere where would all the computers come from. We were amazed!  There was already a considerable amount of IT equipment waiting and a steady flow continued throughout the afternoon.
SR Events had also arranged for a local recycling company to attend (recyclingyourIT.co.uk) to take anything that fell outside of our requirements and we are grateful to Kevin and John for their assistance throughout the afternoon.

When the time came to go home came Computers 4 Africa benefited by collecting a total of 10 laptops, 33 monitors and 19 base units. A truly successful day, the people of Widdington and the surrounding area were a great example of what a community can achieve and we extend our thanks to them for their willingness to support us, their hospitality, and of course to SR Events who made it happen.
