Digital Pipeline working as Computers 4 Africa

Comic Relief 2011

This year, Comic Relief has challenged people to help needy families in the UK and Africa by ‘doing something funny for money’.  Computers 4 Africa a local charity has taken the opportunity to do something fun with its staff dressing up in red and doing a variety of activities throughout the day.  Computers 4 Africa has even more in common with Comic relief than a red nose, as PC’s have been sent to a school in one of  Africa’s biggest slums, Kibera where Radio 1’s Reggie Yates, EastEnders' Samantha Womack, Lenny Henry and Angela Rippon were sent to experience life in a slum.  “Rich in the slums” highlights the extreme poverty faced by millions everyday,  Computers 4 Africa believes that to break the poverty cycle education is needed. Computer literacy increases opportunities for employment and changes the kind of employment a child or young person might aspire to.  Red nose day is an important reminder of how much we have and how big a difference we can make.

Change a child’s life when you change your PC.
